eLearning Misconceptions

Since we began operations 3 years ago, we have found the following 3 common misconceptions consistently come up in client discussions:

  • eLearning is only good as a supplemental learning or limited to knowledge learning.
  • eLearning participants are disengaged because there is no human interaction.
  • Learners do not want to be in front of a computer and they prefer learning with a human being.

This can happen if the course has been designed poorly. Taking the time to work with clients to understand learning requirements is instrumental to online learning success. Disengagement can happen not only with eLearning but with face-to-face training as well as they are both dependent on design.
